Since 2001, Malted Milk, French musical group formed in 1998, is recognized as one of the brightest French incarnations of the current “soul revival“. They occur abroad with big names and participate in “The International Blues Challenge.” Following the release of the album “Sweet Soul Blues“, they toured 70 dates in 2002. As for the American singer Toni Green, she was born into a family steeped in music. It was formed in the black church to the subtleties of soul with Isaac Hayes. She lives in Tennessee in the birthplace of the blues world. It began, barely out of her teens; within the team “Hi Records” alongside Al Green, Syl Johnson and Ann Peebles. Known for his many collaborations with the biggest names in blues and soul with Bar-Kays -the group that accompanied onstage Otis Redding- was nicknamed the “Queen of Memphis blues.” She has been awarded three times the price of best singer of the year. Holder of the prestigious Southern Soul & Blues Award, she has to her credit many price of solo albums, a half-dozen. Toni Green shares his time between the studio and the stage, the United States, as in Europe.
“Green Milk” is a mix of blues, funk and soul. Result of the meeting of members of the Malted Milk group and Toni Green. They found themselves in the studio in March 2014 for compositions and arrangements. They recorded the album “Green & Milk” (Nueva Onda Record) which all agree that it is a mix of times, borrowed from outstanding personalities. An excellent omen if we judge the reception of this “joint creation” as the black American radio network, as that reserved for the group during the Victoires du Jazz, last June. Milk & Green is a special invitation for both the curious amateurs. Two important things to remember if you are in France dates: 12 and 13 November 2014.
