Until August 13, the Arab World Institute hosts an exhibition event: the “Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca.” Hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam which includes prayer, the profession of faith, fasting during the month of Ramadan and almsgiving. This pilgrimage should be undertaken by the believer to a specific date during the 12th month in the Muslim lunar calendar. This exhibition presents the pilgrimage to Mecca in its religious, social and cultural dimensions, through the historical developments. The public can admire on the theme of the pilgrimage of medieval art, manuscripts, miniatures, textiles and trappings of offerings objects. This is also an opportunity to see the look on the artist Saudi Hajj, numerous architectural projects of amenities saints as well as testimonies of pilgrims places. Exposure to see emergency approach of Ramadan !
